چکیده

Abstract Introduction Atrial fibrillation (AF) is the most common sustained arrhythmia and an important risk factor for stroke heart. Recent technology advances have allowed heart rhythm monitoring using smart gadgets/wearable devices which can be used early AF diagnosis. Hypothesis We performed a systemic review meta-analysis to assess accuracy of diagnosis by devices. Methods systematically searched Medline, Embase Cochrane electronic databases up April 15th, 2022 observational studies diagnostic smartphone application, wrist-worn wearables external in detecting AF. calculated area under curve (AUC) summary receiver operating characteristic curves (SROC) pooled sensitivities specificities. Results A total 79 were included enrolling 36903 patients, 66.3% male with average age 68.3±8 years. In overall analysis all devices, AUC was 0.99 (95% CI: 0.98-1.00), sensitivity 95%(95% 94–96%), specificity 96%(95% 96–97%). Wrist-worn had 95%(9% 92–97%), 97%(95% 96–98%)(Figure 1A). Smart detection of atrial fibrillation†

Aims Atrial fibrillation (AF) is the most common arrhythmia encountered in clinical practice, and its paroxysmal nature makes its detection challenging. In this trial, we evaluated a novel App for its accuracy to differentiate between patients in AF and patients in sinus rhythm (SR) using the plethysmographic sensor of an iPhone 4S and the integrated LED only. Methods and results For signal a...

Implanted Devices and Atrial Fibrillation

Atrial fibrillation (AF) is a supraventricular tachyarrhythmia characterized by uncoordinated atrial activation with consequent deterioration of atrial mechanical function. On the electrocardiogram (ECG), AF is characterized by the replacement of consistent P waves with rapid oscillations or fibrillatory waves associated with an irregular ventricular response. AF is the most common arrhythmia i...

Intravenous Methylprednisolone, a Possible Cause of the Atrial Fibrillation

We are presenting a case illustrating atrial fibrillation (AF) following the use of methylprednisolone in a patient with pelvic and femur fracture. A 48- year- old man with no significant past medical history, was admitted to the emergency department after injury in a car accident. He suffered a multiple bone fracture with chief complaints of pain and shortness of breath. He was transfer...

In Vivo Diagnostic Accuracy of Digital Radiography in the Detection of Secondary Caries in Anterior Teeth

Background and Aim: Secondary caries are a common challenge for dentists. Many researchers have evaluated the accuracy of digital radiographic systems in the detection of secondary caries and have reported controversial results. Therefore, the aim of this in vivo study was to determine the diagnostic accuracy of digital radiography in the detection of secondary caries in anterior teeth. Mate...

The diagnostic accuracy of the MyDiagnostick to detect atrial fibrillation in primary care

BACKGROUND Atrial fibrillation is very common in people aged 65 or older. This condition increases the risk of death, congestive heart failure and thromboembolic conditions. Many patients with atrial fibrillation are asymptomatic and a cerebrovascular accident (CVA) is often the first clinical presentation. Guidelines concerning the prevention of CVA recommend monitoring the heart rate in patie...
